In PGA Tour 2K21, mechanics play a central role in whether or not you will be successful in the game. Making sure you have smooth movements will go a long way towards being successful in 2K21. However, mechanics shouldn't be your only focus. Finding the right clubs can help you avoid bunkers and rough ones. But which clubs are the best for the PGA Tour 2K21? Let's go over our recommendations, starting with the pilots
conductors
In PGA Tour 2K21, you can have a maximum of 14 clubs in your bag. One of these clubs will be your pilot, the stick you use most at the start of each hole. Here are our recommendations for pilots to target:
Bridgestone Golf Tour B JGR (Silver)
This club, in our opinion, is the best option for beginners. Despite having a below average distance, this club's forgiveness is among the best. This forgiveness will come in handy if you tend to decide. The JGR also has a decent shot formatting attribute.
TaylorMade Sim Max (Silver)
If you think the JGR is a bit too basic, trying the TaylorMade Sim Max might be your alley. The key when upgrading your driver is that you want to improve your Distance attribute, while not losing too much in the Pardon category. The Sim Max gives you that, and you'll also receive a boost in the Swing Plane and Distance Control attributes.
Ben Hogan ES53 (Silver)
Just like with the Sim Max, the Ben Hogan ES53 offers a little more distance than the JGR, but also a little less forgiveness. It also offers roughly the same horsepower as the TaylorMade Sim Max, so choosing between the two will be a decision you'll have to make.
Keep in mind that there are different editions of each club listed above. The other editions of these clubs are top class and will therefore have higher distance attributes. However, each club's forgiveness category is also much lower, so keep that in mind when building your bag.
Woods
When it comes to wooden clubs, it's probably best to go for precision over distance. Wood clubs will be your choice for teeing on par 3 holes, as well as on the fairway for longer par 5 games. Here are our recommended wood clubs:
Bridgestone Tour B JGR (Silver)
Much like with the JGR pilot mode, this club offers a decent distance to go with a large amount of forgiveness. For some holes it's probably better to be a little shorter than longer, provided the shot is accurate.
Ben Hogan GS53 (Silver)
We take a look at another Ben Hogan club model, as this time we focus our attention on the wooden model GS53. This wood will give you a bit more distance than the JGR and doesn't sacrifice as much forgiveness. The JGR and GS53 are both great choices for newcomers to The Golf Club / PGA Tour franchise.
Callaway Mavrik Sub Zero (Or)
Our last wedge we'll be looking at is the Gold Callaway Mavrik Sub Zero. The Sub Zero offers a good amount of distance and forgiveness, as well as high distance control. To unlock this club, you must be sponsored by Callaway in My Player mode, which may take some time. However, the time will be well spent, as this club offers a lot for both beginners and experienced players.
Irons
When looking for an iron, you should focus on two attributes: distance and distance control. Since the irons will be primarily used to put the ball on the green, the key is to get an iron that will have the ability to get you there, but with precision. With that said, let's go over our choices:
Ben Hogan PTx Pro (or)
The Ben Hogan PTx Pro has a fair amount of distance and forgiveness. However, the best attribute of the PTx might be its fantastic ability to control distance. The PTx Pro can be a great option for newcomers, especially those who struggle to control their shots on the fairway or in rough terrain.
Wilson D7 (or)
The Wilson D7 is essentially the same type of club as the PTx Pro. Both clubs have the same Distance, Pardon, and Distance Control attributes, so which one you choose is up to you. Keep in mind, however, that both are sponsorship rewards, which means you'll have to earn a Ben Hogan or Wilson club to receive either of these two clubs.
Callaway Mavrik Max (Violet)
If you don't want to grind in MyPlayer, maybe the Callaway Mavrik Max will come in handy. The Mavrik Max has a better Distance attribute than the PTx Pro and D7 models. However, its weaknesses stem from the attributes of forgiveness and distance control. The Mavrik Max's distance control attribute is lower than that of the PTx Pro and D7, but if you really want to hit the ball as far as you can, it doesn't get much better than with this Callaway model.
Cleats
We now move on to the wedges, which will be the club of choice for you in the bunkers, as well as the big roughs close to the green. Let's review our recommended wedges for PGA Tour 2K21:
Ben Hogan Equalizer (Violet)
For the corners, the emphasis will be less on distance and more on shot shaping and the plane of rotation. The Ben Hogan Equalizer will do you just fine when it comes to shot shaping, without sacrificing distance, forgiveness, and distance control. The Equalizer could be better with its Swing Plane, but it's a good club regardless.
Bridgestone Tour B XW-1 (Violet)
When it comes to Shot Shaping, you can't do much better than the Bridgestone Tour B XW-1. The B XW-1 has a maximum shot shaping attribute, as well as a high rotation plane attribute. If you are looking for a good wedge that will help you with Shot Shaping and Swing Plane, we recommend using this club on the equalizer. Or, you can go for our third pick: the Wilson Staff Model
Wilson Stick Model (Purple)
The Wilson Staff model has essentially the same attributes as the Bridgestone Tour B XW-1. Both have the same Shot Shaping and Swing Plane attributes, putting it on par (pun intended) with the XW-1. And since both clubs have the same cost (500 coins), which one you choose will be up to you.
Putters
Since there are different club attributes for drivers, woods, irons, and wedges, and you would probably assume that each putter is also unique. In this regard, you would be wrong. While there are a number of different putter designs in PGA Tour 2K21, none of them have actual attributes. For this reason, neither putter has an advantage over the other.
You can update the default putter that's currently in your bag at any time, but that should be the last thing you should focus on. Rather, your mind should be on the other clubs that you plan to choose.
