Is math always a problem for you? Do you work hard at school but, despite the many efforts, you have difficulty with numbers and even the simplest equations seem an insurmountable drama to you? Come on, don't get discouraged, you probably just need to change your study method. How about adopting more modern study tools that allow you to learn mathematics, for example, by offering the possibility of solve expressions with photos.
How do you say? Does it sound like science fiction? I assure you this is not the case! Read this guide of mine in which we talk about this possibility, given by simple applications available for both Android devices and for iPhone and iPad dedicated to solving various mathematical questions. These are very simple tools to use and often free. You will see that, by reading this guide, you will have no difficulty in understanding how to use them, also because I will explain how they work step by step.
And it doesn't stop there! Many of these applications, in fact, are not limited to solving expressions with photos, but explain in detail the complete procedure to understand their resolution. On balance, you will solve the math problem that ails you but, at the same time, you will also understand how you can solve it yourself for the next few times. What you need is only the camera of your smartphone or tablet. Try it, come on!
App solve expressions with photos
If you agree, let's get straight to the point and see some app solve expressions with photos to be installed on both Android and iOS / iPadOS.
Photomath (Android/iOS/iPadOS)
Photomath is the first application that I point out to you that is able to solve complex and varied math problems, simply by framing them with the camera of an Android device (the app is also available on the alternative stores of devices without Google services) or iOS / iPadOS.
The application offers clear explanations in British and supports most mathematical problems. It supports addition and subtraction, multiplication and division, powers and radicals, fractions and expressions with fractions, linear, logarithmic and trigonometric expressions, systems, inequalities, derivatives and integrals. Basically it is free, but to access in-depth mathematics explanations you need to subscribe starting from 10,99 euros / month.
Having said that, after installing and starting Photomath, select the language of your interest (eg. cityno) and press the button Andiamo. Then scroll through the information sheets that illustrate the operation of the application and press on the item Done (Or Salta, if you have decided not to consult them). Then indicate yours age, award your bottone Following, specify if you are student, parent o teacher and press pulsating Done. Next, give Photomath access to the camera.
Once this is done, frame the mathematical expression you wish to solve. Check that the app focuses correctly on the math formula in the central box that will be used for scanning and press on cue ball placed at the bottom of the screen, to photograph the text of the same. You will see that the expression will be scanned and analyzed in real time. In the blink of an eye it will appear scanned on your device display.
A little further below, however, you will see the result of the expression. If you tap the button Show the steps of the solution, a new screen will open where you will find more information that you will need to study mathematics.
In addition to the solution of the expression and the related steps to take to solve it, one below the other, you will find some explanations on how the expression was resolved. By touching the various steps that will be shown on the display you will be able to view all the mathematical rules that have been applied, with detailed explanations. By pressing the button Share (top right) you can instead share the expression and its resolution through the major social networks, or you can simply save it on your device.
If you want to manually enter the expression to be solved, in the main Photomath screen you can press the button Calculator. This will open a new screen where, thanks to a keyboard with mathematical symbols, you can enter all the numbers you want in the expression, delete them completely and possibly modify them. Again, the Photomath application will calculate the result instantly and you can easily share it.
Photomath also keeps track of resolved expressions, with a history that you can view at any time. How you do it? Just press the icon of notebook with clock (in the top right corner of the app's main screen) and that's it.
If, at any time, you have any doubts about the operation of the application, the section Service center, available in the menu that can be recalled by pressing the button (≡) (top left) will provide you with the resolution for some popular problems.
Android / iOS assimilation)
Also Associate, is a useful solution for solving mathematical expressions with a photo. This app is available for free for Android (also on alternative stores) and iOS / iPadOS and is supported through not very invasive advertising banners. If desired, it is possible to take out a subscription starting from 5,49 euros / month, to remove advertisements and have more detailed explanations on solving mathematical problems, with step-by-step guides that illustrate the rules applied.
After installing and starting Cymath on your device, tap the button Camera (on the right) and grant it the necessary permissions to access the camera. Next, frame the expression you intend to solve, making it fit within the box placed in the center of the screen, and presses the ▶ ︎ button located at the bottom. In the new screen that opens, as if by "magic", you will find the solved expression, complete with the necessary steps for its resolution.
I would also like to point out the possibility of writing the expression with the keyboard (if for some reason I could not act with the camera), by pressing the button Keyboard present at the top left of the main screen of the app. By tapping the button instead (≡), at the top left, and selecting the item History from the opened menu, you can see the history of previously resolved expressions.
Microsoft Math Solver (Android/iOS/iPadOS)
Another useful solution is Microsoft Math Solver which, as the name suggests, allows you to quickly perform mathematical calculations by framing the expressions to be solved with the camera of your device. It also allows you to write expressions with hand typing, as well as with keyboard typing. It is available at no cost on both Android (including alternative stores) and OS / iPadOS.
After installing and starting Math Solver on your device, select the language you prefer to set (eg. cityno) and the first button Introduction placed at the bottom. Next, watch the informative tutorial that explains how it works, or salta this step by pressing the appropriate button located at the top right.
At this point, presses on the button Take a picture yourself and grant Math Solver access to the device's camera; then frame the expression you intend to solve, taking care that it falls completely within the box placed in the center of the screen, and presses on circular button at the bottom of the screen.
Then, click on the button Continue and in the opened screen you will see the resolution of the expression framed just now. By tapping the button View the solution steps, you will be able to see the steps that led to the resolution of the same with all the explanations of the case. Furthermore, by scrolling the screen, you will be able to see the expression in a graphic, to analyze similar problems, to look video related from the Internet and you will be able to access other useful learning material.
To access the other ways of writing expressions, just press the button Draw, regarding handwriting, e Keyboard, to recall the mode that allows writing from the keyboard instead.
