For example, when I started my Be A Pro career, I was hoping to be drafted by the Detroit Red Wings, who had a fourth position in the Draft Lottery and my game was not amazing, which I did. intentionally: to be good enough to make it into the top 5 but not good enough to make it into the top 3, compared to guys like Lafrenière and Byfield. No matter what I did, I got drafted in the top three. The drafts have happened a bit more realistically in previous entries, but with the way the conversation has been implemented this year, I guess a realistic draft wasn't going to happen. There was talk of the end of last season and the draft right before the game came out, due to the NHLPA contract signing schedule, which resulted in it going the way it did, so here we are, I guess.
That led me to another question, then: How are you traded so that you have realistic rookie expectations placed on you and always go to a team you love? Well, at the moment, there isn't really a definitive way as there are many factors that determine whether you will even be considered for trading or not, let alone be accepted into a trade. Hell, for a while you couldn't even ask for a trade. What I can do here, however, is help make your journey to the team you want to go as smooth as possible.
Play where you are drafted
You're going to want to spend some time on the team you're drafted into. As unappealing as it sounds, it reflects a real world situation where you will want to boost your reputation, value and boost your numbers as much as possible before you jump on the trading block. The best way to do this is to manage your expectations through challenge and conversation systems. While managing your Brand Points is probably not as important as your Teammate and Management Points when considering building your foundations, as a player, Brand plays an important role in whether you will attract or not fans in the arena.
The game myself has never really given me a certain period of time that I could reasonably ask for a trade, but it seems like playing an entire season where you're drafted is the bare minimum before you even complete your first sheet. 'offer. You will automatically be placed on the market once your first contract is completed. You will therefore still be able to play it until the end of your contract, but you will then be signed as a free agent and will not be traded.
Boost your star power
Since you are fundamentally against players like Lafrenière and Byfield in the Calder race, you have high expectations of winning this historic rookie trophy as well as the Stanley Cup and if you play a vital role in the Cup race your value will increase and your desire as a player will grow. The two best ways to do this are to keep your stats up to date, constantly complete as many challenges as possible, and make sure you're fulfilling your role. For example, as a Power Forward I am expected to use my physical strength to make plays, which means I have to throw my weight and move the puck into the offensive zone on top of being a competent advocate. The more I fill this role, the more attractive I am.
There is no guarantee
The more desirable you are as a player cannot guarantee that your team will realistically want to give up on you. Even if you start responding to offers from other teams, it does not guarantee that the team you are a part of will agree to the terms of the exchange, so try to keep that in mind, as you won't want to overestimate your capacity and your contribution.
Hopefully, over the next year, NHL 21 will continue to update and polish the Be A Pro mode and give us a little more of a definitive idea of what it takes to be traded, but from here on out there is what we have.
