Phoenix Labs, the developer of Dauntless, is launching Bounties, a new system meant to replace the game's lackluster weekly quests and give players a new way to progress down the Hunt Pass path. This not only gives players more control over how they earn the Hunt Pass rewards, but also allows them to do so on their schedule.
When will the bounties live in Intrepid?
The Bounty System in Dauntless begins at the start of next season, Aether Unbound. No specific date has yet been announced for Aether Unbound, but the current season ends on September 19. If the next season is coming, it will start at that time.
From that point on, bonuses should continue each season. Unlike weekly quests, there is no limit to the number of Bounties players that can be earned in any given week. Instead, players can receive as many Bounties as they want, as long as they have a new currency called Bounty Tokens. These are reset at the start of each hunting pass to be paid for.
How do you earn bonus tokens?
New bounties can start at any time, at the cost of one bounty token each. Players will automatically receive a certain number of bonus tokens. Every time a new Hunt Pass is launched, everyone in the game receives 10 Bounty Tokens for free and two more each day.
If you wish to hunt them, the Bounty Tokens are removed from any level 2 or higher hunt. You receive Reward Tokens as a reward for your progress in the Hunting Pass.
Premium Bounty tokens will also appear in the store once the Bounty system is up and running. Intrepid. The only difference between Premium Tokens and regular Bounty Tokens is that the Premium variety does not expire at the end of a Hunt Pass.
How do you use Bounty Tokens to unlock Bounties?
As long as you have at least one bounty token, you can start taking bounties. You can only organize four at a time, but until you already have four, you can create one at any time. Spending a Bounty Token allows you to draw three random Bounty Cards. You can then choose which one you want to add to your collection, eliminating the other two.
Players can take the time needed to complete the bonuses. From what Phoenix Labs has already shown, Bounties appear to have the same objectives as the Weekly Quests, such as hunting Behemoths with a specific weapon or inflicting choke a number of times.
What do you get for supplementing the bonuses?
For now, the only rewards listed for completing Bounties are the Hunting Pass progression items. However, some Bounty cards are worth more than others. Bounty cards can be bronze, silver, or gold rarity, each offering different levels of progression in Hunt Pass. Gold Bounty cards offer the most progress possible, but also meet the most demanding requirements.
Phoenix Labs states that players will always receive three Bounty cards of the same rarity. They will therefore never be forced to choose a Bounty that they do not want just because it is gold. The developers also say that all players will receive the same proportion of Bronze, Silver, and Gold cards.
