Some BitLife royalty have the opportunity to review the laws of their country. If your character is part of the royalty of the country, an obligation they may have to fulfill is that they must pass or repeal laws that the country wishes to enforce. Some of these laws may seem silly and simple.
A good majority of the laws introduced in this part of the game are incredibly minor. You can see what they are in the BitLife activities section, and they should be in the Royalty category. Click on the law review, and if a new law is available, your character can choose to support or denounce it. Once the decision is made, it becomes law in the game.
Unfortunately, beyond making a decision and clicking on a choice, it doesn't seem to affect the game in any way. A lot of these laws are stupid. For example, our princess from Sasaki, Japan was fortunate enough to support a new law that required cafes to serve decaffeinated coffee only after 20 p.m. After passing a new law, our respect meter never increased and no family member or friend had a problem. It doesn't seem to have a significant effect on the audience. The developers might have something in mind for the future, like having your character pass a number of laws. They don't seem to be doing anything other than adding mood text to the game right now.
Not all countries have access to this either. We had a character who was a duke in the UK, and they never had the chance to pass or denounce a law. But the Princess of Sasaki, Japan, was able to do it, and at a young age.
