In Ghost of Tsushima, you can bow in order. You can do this to show respect for the dead and get unique dialogue from the main character Jin, or you can bow to other random locations for a special effect. Players bow to everything, and the effects are different depending on location - what we do know is that; if you see a small wooden sign with a bend gesture, you need to bow. Something cool will happen if you do.
Let's see what some players have found so far.

Curved Easter Eggs
One of the first areas we discovered didn't have a sign to tilt - so signs aren't the only places to tilt. If you spot any strange shrines or statues, it's a good idea to say hello to them too!
For that tilting Easter egg, we made our way to the cliff path that (eventually) leads to the Isonade Coast Island. There is a frog statue along the way - if you bow to this statue a swarm of frogs will appear.
And there are many more! Another player has discovered three more of these bent Easter eggs - one on the pier, where a swarm of fish leaps out of the water. There is also a forest sanctuary, where bowing down causes fireflies to appear all around you. And finally, there is a sign on the beach that summons an army of crabs.
There are probably even more of these little Easter egg sites out there. Are they doing anything for Jin's war against the invaders? Not really. But it's a cool little addition - and who knows, maybe bowing will reward you with something good down the line. We'll just have to wait and see what else is hiding on his island.
