With the introduction of the PUBG and PUBG Mobile ranking system, players can now differentiate themselves from others by their skill level. After a first round of provisional matches, one will be placed in a designated scale based on their performance. Each game will then affect a player's Match Rating (MMR), with ratings that grant bragging rights to those at the top.
There are plenty of ways to improve in any battle royale title, like practicing objective, learning the map, or just playing more games. Nonetheless, here are some tips to consider when trying to improve your PUBG rank.
Communication is the key
While using a microphone to talk with your teammates is the best option, PUBG has added some other in-game features for communication as well. This includes the ability to mark certain parts of the map and call for help.
The ability to tell teammates which direction to take when approaching enemies or get information on the next place to go is a major aspect of longer survival during matches.
Land further
While risking him early to finish off more opponents sometimes works, he can also backfire very easily. As such, a great way to improve your rank in PUBG is landing further.
Since PUBG looting system relies on luck, it is more beneficial to land further away from others or just in a less crowded area. Instead of depending on luck when trying to find a good weapon in the house you land near, you'll be able to search for gear without worry.
Know your equipment
Instead of scooping it all up, be sure to practice with a series of weapons that all use the same ammo. Items such as weapon attachments should also be used depending on your preferences. Load up the driving range and try out the different variations. This way you can really become more comfortable with using different magnification scopes, muzzles to limit flash, a front grip for recoil reduction, etc. Also, be sure to wear your helmet, bulletproof vest, and backpack at all times.
Take note of the safety zone
Look at the minimap at all times and make sure you're still in the safe zone before it starts to shrink. Sometimes it can be more beneficial to stay in the blue zone and do away with weakened opponents. However, do not stay too long as it can cause serious damage.
Camp for others
Based on the first circle changes, it's usually easy to predict where the final safe zone will end. As such, if you don't feel confident in directly engaging others, go to a building where you think the center will be. Since searching the map for enemies can often turn out to be in vain, waiting for others to come to you works best.
Activate your in-game sounds to hear enemy footsteps and vehicle sounds, so you know when to prepare for an ambush.
Avoid early fights
Another great way to improve your PUBG rank by surviving longer is to simply avoid enemy opponents to start with. While that doesn't mean you shouldn't engage others at all, it's best to run away from a fight if you're unsure of winning. Also, getting involved in a fight between other parties is not recommended, although you can pick up a few easy attacks. The shot will draw attention to yourself, which can make you outnumber you.
While these tips may seem passive, they are a great way to survive longer in matches. While eliminations are important, increasing your final ranking during matches and the probability of winning will do a lot more to get the rank you want PUBG.
