2. ArbolApp: app to identify trees
ArbolApp is an initiative of the largest Spanish research organization, the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC). It is totally free, does not need a network connection and is aimed at all audiences. It is based on scientific research carried out by the Royal Botanical Garden of the CSIC. The project has also received funding from the Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology (FECYT).
Within the app you can find 143 species described in 122 files . All the native trees and the most frequently wild ones in Andorra, continental Portugal, peninsular Spain and the Balearic Islands. Each species has a brief description, one or more photos and a distribution map. It also has 2 types of search (guided and open), 370 illustrations, 500 photographs with the most characteristic details and a glossary with about 90 terms .
