What should I keep the Master Ball for?
As of yet, there isn't a perfect Pokémon you'll want to save the Master Ball for. There are currently only two valid uses for the Master Ball.
- Save the Master Ball for an extremely rare Shiny Pokémon - especially Pokémon that immediately run away like Sovkipou.
- Or save the Master Ball for the future, when updates include new, rare Pokémon in the Wilds.
- If you see a shiny 5 Star Raid Den Gigantamax… you might want to use the Master Ball. Just to be sure.
Or you can use the Master Ball to catch a Magikarp, just to anger everyone everywhere with your poor decision-making abilities.
What Should I Use the Master Ball For?
One thing I know for sure is that there are many situations where you absolutely should not use your Master Ball. There are a few situations where this might sound like a good idea, but I'm here to let you know - it's a waste of time. Do not use your Master Ball in the following situations!
- Do not use the Master Ball to catch Legendary Zacians or Zamazentas. You can catch them with any ball! Don't accidentally waste the Master Ball.
- Do not use the Master Ball to catch a standard Raid Den Pokémon. If you are the host, Raid Den Pokemon has a 100% capture rate. You can use Ethernatos in Lvl. 100 to rollroll Level 5 Raid Dens solo.
Of course, if you want to put your Legendary in a fancy ball, then go ahead and use the Master Ball. Although this is a powerful bullet, it is not required unless you are a crazed collector hunting Shiny Pokemon or an item collector.
Which PokeBalls are the best for catching Pokemon?
If you use your Master Ball, you can catch just about anything. Let's walk through all of the best PokeBalls and when you should use them.
- Fast ball: Incredibly valuable for catching fleeing Pokémon like Sovkipou. Immediately use a fastball and the chances of catching are improved. The more you spin, the less effective a fastball becomes - so save them for Round 1 catches.
- Repeat the ball: This is one of the best for all non-Dynamax Pokémon. The more you try to capture a Pokémon, the more your chances increase. Just keep spamming Repeat Ball, and Wild Pokémon will end up being yours every time.
- Level Ball: The higher your level difference, the easier the captures will be. If your opponent is at (1/4) max level of your Pokémon, you will get a huge x8 bonus. Simply empty all your Exp. Candy and Rare Candy in a Pokémon, reach level 100 and go crazy.
There are plenty of other handy Pokeballs. Love Balls increase your chances by x4 if you are the enemy is the same species but the opposite sex.
